Dunno about other fields, but with software consultancy sales is more about ramming as much licence down your customer’s throat as they’ll take, and selling very few consultancy days to make up for it, but still promising that the consultancy will do everything you want. Then sales get the nice bonus and the consultants get shouted at. Simples
